Development Team’s Responses to Your 10/31 Update Comments and Questions
Masters of the Book, I am Kim Young-mo, the director of ASTRA: Knights of Veda. The highly anticipated Season 2 update, Tears of the Goddess. was finally released on October 31, 2024. We would like to sincerely thank everyone who participated in the launch festivities. The development team is here to answer the feedback and questions you, our Masters of the Book, have shared. Through your feedback, we feel a greater sense of responsibility in addressing areas of the game that need further improvement. We will make sure to properly review your suggestions and reflect them in a way that would improve the game for Season 2 and beyond. 1. The Experience points required to level up the Master of the Book in Season 2 seem to have increased significantly, which caught many off guard. It’s great that the experience points are higher, but the gap between Master of the Book levels and the Adventure Level Ascension Quests seems to have increased the progression difficulty. We have received numerous feedback about this, and it is one that we can empathize with as we plan to continually review and make changes to it on the difficulty side. The development team increased the experience points for the Master of the Book level in Season to allow new and returning users to level up quickly and unlock most of the content tied to these levels much faster. In the process, we anticipated a much slower increase in Knights’ power relative to their Master of the Book level, and thus an increase in the difficulty of levels. While this was the case, we believed that several buffs made to most Knights, and the steady flow of resources given to users compared to those given from the Open Beta, made it so that clearing Adventure Zones shouldn’t be too difficult. However, rest assured that we will continue to monitor the situation and make adjustments to Ascension Quests or Adventure Zones that are proving to be too difficult. 2. We’re enjoying the addition of Squad Battles, but it seems like the monsters in it feel stronger. Are there any differences with monster HP values? For Season 2, the development team has made Squad Battle the foundational battle mode. In Squad Battle, all four Knights are actively on the field, which increases enemy health accordingly. After taking advantage of synergies with Knight combinations and stats, it became possible to break through the Adventure Zone using Squad Battle. However, if progress became difficult, we designed a play experience that allows you to challenge harder areas through Normal Battle or Co-Op, offering a more strategic approach to overcoming tough obstacles. 3. Most of the Knights added in Season 1 haven't had story quests attached to them. Are there any plans to add Story Quests to them? The Knights released in Season 1 continue to advance their quests and agendas within the world of ASTRA: Knights of Veda. The characters in the main story will continue to evolve, with additional storylines added over time. For the external characters with significant episodes, we will prioritize important updates and release them gradually. 4. I was really looking forward to the release of Season 2, but then I noticed that most of the new content added has been for the end-game. Are there any plans to add content for those still starting or at an intermediate level? In an earlier Director’s Letter, we briefly introduced some content that will be added to the game’s subsequent updates. We are currently monitoring the difficulty of content like Portrait of Thierry, Beast Battlefront, and the Ancient Golden City, as they seem to present a significant barrier for beginners. As a development team, our first priority has always been to design the difficulty of all content, future or existing, with high quality, ensuring that players of all skills levels can still have a satisfying gameplay experience. With that in mind, we will continue to adjust the balance of existing content and add more challenging high-level content to match the progression of users. The most important part in building powerful Knights in ASTRA: Knights of Veda has always been Item Setup, the most critical of which is the Relic setup. We believe that properly setting artifacts is a key skill for anyone wishing to master the game. The Development Team is currently exploring various ways to make Relic setup and the checking of item stats easier for beginners. Once we finalize the direction for this update, we will share it with you all. 5. The stress brought about by the pity system is quite high, especially when consecutive pity pulls occur, bringing extreme disappointment. Could you ease the pity system or allow us to choose between a 100% guaranteed pity pull after 100 summons or a 50% pull after 70 summons. "Call of the Stars" is an area that requires careful consideration for various reasons. We fully understand the stress users may experience in this area and are working on measures that will satisfy a wide range of players. We will share these updates as soon as possible. While there is ongoing discussion, please note that since it is a system that has already been commercialized, we must approach any changes with caution. We appreciate your understanding and patience. That concludes the answers to the topics that we thought you might be curious about regarding the Season 2 update. As announced on a previous Developer Note, after the Season 2 “Tears of the Goddess” update, we plan to introduce “Trials of the Celestial”, “Nightmare Dungeon of the Deep Abyss”, “World Bosses”, and the Mythic-grade for Weapons and Knights. This, alongside some other planned content and improvements that we are still to introduce in future updates. We would like to thank all our Masters of the Book, who are still with us and who joined us for Season 2, “Tears of the Goddess”. A full roadmap for Season 2 will be provided soon, combining both the planned developments and improvements to existing content. Thank you.

Interview
To me, Nayan is a small "regret" for the dreams I once had, and at the same time, a reminder of the cheerful "childlike innocence" that remains in a corner of my heart. Q. Lastly, could you give us a small hint about how the continuation of the story will unfold. Yuja : There will be a variety of unexpected things that will come together to form the core of the next part of the story – things like frustration, overcoming challenges, growth, betrayal, secrets, and even romance. While Season 1 focused primarily on the story of the thirteenth Master of the Book, the next story will shift the spotlight to other characters as well, who will take center stage and unfold their narratives. Many of you have expressed curiosity about the upcoming Knights for Season 2, and as more characters are introduced, we hope you follow their journey as intently as you did the others before. For those of you who enjoyed Season 1’s story, we think you’ll appreciate the next chapter of the story! Have you checked any ASTRA: Knights of Veda concept art illustrations on the pre-registration page and community posts? One of the key elements that the development team focused on during this update was creating illustrations that could instantly convey the atmosphere of Season 2. Since this is the first time we’re introducing new regions and important characters in the story to the Masters of the Book, a lot of effort went into making sure these illustrations truly captured the essence of the update. Next, we’d like to share the story of Yogurt King, the youngest member of the Character Team in the Concept Art Department, who beautifully created these illustrations. Q. Hello, Please introduce yourself. Yogurt King : Hello, this is "Yogurt King" and I work in the Concept Art Department’s Character Team. We’re responsible for creating in-game resources such as character illustrations, weapons, icons, and other assets. Q. Did you work on all the illustrations by yourself? Could you explain the process you followed? Yogurt King : I am responsible for the character design and background sketches for the illustrations. The background work then, based on the sketches I drew, would be refined and completed by our Team Leader. For the process, first I gather about 50-100 reference images. From these, I select the ones that will be more useful and relevant to the illustration I am to make. Afterward, I sketch out the general composition and mood that will showcase the character’s specific “charm”, and then create the initial concept. During the process of developing the concept, I exchange many ideas with the team and the department head. We constantly check to make sure that the atmosphere of the illustration matches our intent, and whether the character’s personality and movement feel consistent. Once the larger aspects are decided, I refine the details and work on polishing the illustration until it’s complete. Q. The two illustrations showcased each have very different atmospheres. Were there specific aspects you wanted to emphasize in each one? Yogurt King : For the illustration with Rhynara as the main character, I focused on creating a cold, shimmering atmosphere and the feeling of tears, sparkling yet serene in a way that fits the title of the Season “Tears of the Goddess.” The composition, with a perspective looking up from below, along with the flowing hair and accessories, was meant to evoke a grand, new beginning, as the winds of the new Season blow in. Since previous illustrations often used warmer tones, I decided to try a more pale, blue-toned palette for a fresh and distinctive feel for Season 2. I hope this new approach will convey to our Masters of the Book a sense of uniqueness to our illustrations. For the illustration with Aurora as the focus, I wanted to capture the feeling of a Knight embarking on a journey. The sunset in this case would represent the end of Season 1, with the characters all looking towards and going to the Principality of Koren – a place commonly associated with the twilight. Aurora is a character loved by many Masters of the Book, so I tried to ensure her strong will was still subtly reflected alongside her beautiful visage. I also focused on the interactions and relationships of the Knights: Veleno, with her cheerful nature; Atterisee following her with a bright smile; and Ellen Farrell, observing from a distance. I concentrated on the Knights’ expressions and their interactions in this illustration. Q. As the youngest member of the character team, did you feel any pressure as you were taking on such important tasks? Were there any difficulties you encountered while working on them? Yogurt King : When I first took on the task, I did feel some pressure, but looking back, it was a rewarding and enjoyable experience. During the process, my teammates were incredibly helpful, and I received a lot of support, encouraging me to freely explore ideas and directions as long as my intentions and vision were clear. It felt like we were creating the final product together, which made the work much easier and less burdensome. They trusted me and allowed me to concentrate on delivering high-quality results without worrying about anything else, an environment where I could focus solely on the work from start to finish. I'm grateful for that.

Masters of the Book, Before we begin, we would like to thank all of you for the love and support we have received since the game’s release on April 02, 2024. Due to this overwhelming love and support, we were able to work on and release Season 2 of the game just this October 31! We hope that you continue to support us throughout this journey as we introduce more Knights and travel to more locations. Up until now, we’ve communicated with and responded to feedback from the community through various channels, such as Director’s Letters and Developer Notes. This time, we’d like to take a slightly different approach and share information from the update process with you. Here we’ve spoken with the people who participated in the development of Season 2 and unravel the behind-the-scenes stories that occurred throughout the process. In the previous season, many of our Masters of the Book showed great interest in when new stories would be available after clearing Chapter 7 of the Adventure Zone. We sat down for our first interview with the Assistant Team Leader of the Setting Design Team, Yuja, who can explain the newly unfolding Season 2 story and the Knights of Veda better than anyone else. Q. Hello, Please introduce yourself. Yuja : Hello, this is Yuja from the Setting Design Team. We’re responsible for world-building, character development, and writing dialogue and narratives. Q. Could you briefly explain the plot and provide a view of the world of ASTRA: Knights of Veda? Yuja : The world is thrown into chaos as the twelve Masters of the Book containing the power of the Goddess Veda become corrupted. At this moment of darkness, you, the thirteenth Master of the Book arrives. To fulfill your destiny, you must overcome countless trials and the darkness threatening to engulf the world. Q. Were there any parts of the story that you found particularly difficult to write about? Yuja : I think the biggest challenge was that we have so many stories to tell and so little time to tell them! ASTRA: Knights of Veda has an expansive world that is closely connected to its predecessor, Dragon Blaze. So I was thinking about how to seamlessly weave stories from both games into one cohesive narrative. Q. In Season 2’s story, some Knights of Veda featured as Limited Call of the Stars appeared as new bosses. When creating the Knights, do you keep in mind the future story developments that will involve them down the line? Yuja : That’s correct, we do keep these story beats in mind when thinking of Knights to include in the game. The various Knights of Veda all have different tasks and objectives while the Master of the Book was adventuring to Gigantfall in Season 1. However, as the Master of the Book continues to grow in power and fame, their fates eventually become entangled as their objectives intersect with those of the Master of the Book. In addition, the Knights that are to be introduced in Season 2, will also have their own goals that will converge with the Master of the Book. Facing off against these same Knights of Veda that are playable, will allow players to see another side of these characters, as well as the complex interplay between the world’s various factions. This adds another layer of fun to the experience. Q. Is there anything you would like our Masters of the Book to pay special attention to while playing Season 2? Yuja : Building off my answer to the previous question,, not all of the Knights of Veda who appear as bosses are necessarily “evil” characters. As some of you may have already realized, in the world of ASTRA: Knights of Veda, there is no clear-cut distinction between what is “good” and what is “evil”. Each Knight of Veda is simply pursuing a goal in which they fiercely believe, based on the circumstances that they find themselves in. What I encourage our Masters of the Book to focus on then, is understanding each character’s goals, and just how far they are willing to go to achieve it, as I believe that this will make the story even more engaging. That aside, what I wish for the most is that our Masters of the Book enjoy the game freely, to play the game at their own pace and in whatever way they desire! Q. Do you have a Knight of Veda that you like the most? If so, please tell us more about them. Yuja : My most beloved Knight of Veda is Nayan, the Walrus Messenger. As for why, Nayan is a character who has preserved the purity of childhood that most, as they grew older, have lost. She is, in many ways, the exact opposite of me. When I was younger, I had many dreams and believed I could accomplish anything I set my heart to, but as time goes by and reality continually sets in, I gradually lose sight of these dreams. That is why I believe Nayan’s “childlike innocence” is one of her greatest strengths. She overcomes countless trials and crises in her own way, and the source of that strength comes from her belief in herself and her courage. Just like her line, “I'm Nayan. I know how courageous and strong I am!” – she faces the world with a strong belief in herself and with an upbeat attitude. To maintain this childlike innocence amidst doubt and hardship is, I think, proof of having the strongest hearts. They trusted me and allowed me to concentrate on delivering high-quality results without worrying about anything else, an environment where I could focus solely on the work from start to finish. I'm grateful for that. The most challenging part was that the illustrations required a certain level of understanding of perspective theory and the ability to express specific situations. With the limited time, I had to study 3D tools, take perspective lessons, and practice drawing as much as possible to achieve the best possible result. But in the end, seeing the completed work, I felt proud of what I was able to accomplish. Q. Lastly, what are you currently working on, and could you describe a knight of Veda that the Masters of the Book will encounter in the future? Yogurt King : Right now, I'm working on an illustration for an upcoming Knight of Veda. They’re a character who, I think, will be quite different from the ones we've seen before. I believe this new Knight will be one that the Masters of the Book will eagerly anticipate and enjoy. It's a character I like a lot, so I'm attached to it and enjoying the process. I can't wait for you all to meet them in-game! So, that was a conversation with two members who were in charge of the story and artwork for ASTRA: Knights of Veda. Through this interview with the developers, I hope you had fun discovering more details about Season 2 and the story of ASTRA: Knights of Veda while playing. In our next interview, we'll bring you more new stories from other developers, sharing insights into the November update. Once again, thank you for all the love you've shown ASTRA: Knights of Veda over the past six months. We look forward to your continued support for Season 2! Thank you.

Development Team’s Brief Overview of the Upcoming Season 2 Updates
Hello, Masters of the Book. I am Kim Young-mo, the director of ASTRA: Knights of Veda. Thank you for your incredible support as we kick off Season 2! We're thrilled to see your enthusiasm and excited to let you know that the updates you've seen so far are just a taste of even bigger changes ahead. As Season 2 progresses, ASTRA: Knights of Veda will strive for greater innovation and growth. Your journey is just beginning, and we look forward to bringing you even more exciting developments! We would like to briefly explain the development direction we are working towards and the content we are preparing. First, we want to reduce the burden of in-game purchases that users feel are mandatory and provide more diverse opportunities for strengthening. To do this, we are preparing a system allowing all 4★ and 5★ Knights of Veda to ascend to the “Mythic” grade. Equipment can also ascend into Mythic-grade, with their appearance able to be set by the player. This ascension into the Mythic grade will be facilitated through various in-game content and missions. We believe that some of the content released was too challenging and may now feel like too repetitive and routine work. In the future, we will strive to avoid creating content that is too “homework-like” in feel and gameplay, and will focus on developing content that provides a true expression of skill that can only be experienced in ASTRA: Knights of Veda. In addition, we will carefully review the rewards to match them to the difficulty level of the challenge. The specific schedule for these changes will be revealed alongside the roadmap, but we will be taking this opportunity to provide some of the information on the changes and additions we have prepared. In November, a new game mode called “Trials of the Celestial” will be released. As the power of the Dark Royal Tomb beneath Gigantfall is released and the Crown of Death finds its master, the clouds obscuring the top of the Tower of Trials are lifted. Now, would- be challengers can ascend to the top of Tower of Trials, as its ancient, original form is revealed. The existing Tower of Trials has been significantly changed, and the Master of the Book can now challenge its infinite floors. With most of the Masters of the Book's recent spec upgrades and the addition of the Portrait of Thierry, we've noticed some overlap with the Tower of Trials content. The experience and challenge level may feel less engaging, with the content repeating every three weeks. We understand it might feel more like a task than a thrill. To avoid this feeling of repetitiveness, we have removed the resets for Tower of Trials, alongside other changes coming to this content with the “Trials of the Celestial” update. As previously mentioned, the “Trials of the Celestial” will not reset and rewards will be provided each floor. Initially, about a hundred floors will be opened, and as you attempt the higher floors, you will need to be more creative in your Knight lineups to beat it as each floor will also feature special buffs and debuffs. You can check the rankings for records on reaching the highest floor. The nickname and portrait of the Masters of the Book who clear each floor in a specific section are engraved on that floor first, and all Masters of the Book who climb the tower may receive special rewards in honor of the first climber. There will be no support for Squad Battles; you can only challenge the Tower with your wits and your Knight setups. In December, we will be introducing the Nightmare Dungeon of the Deep Abyss Following the events of the Dark Royal Tomb and the Crown of Death, the nightmare has descended further into the abyss, intensifying the darkness surrounding it. Nightmare Dungeon of the Deep Abyss will present you with a more difficult challenge as the abyss deepens and continues to take hold of the Nightmare, with higher level monsters and a regional debuff called “Abyss Trials”. Challenge the Nightmare Dungeon of the Deep Abyss to obtain new Mythic-grade items and relics. Looking for more challenges and a way to show off the power of your Knights of Veda? Look no further as we designed the Nightmare Dungeon of the Deep Abyss with a higher level of challenge specifically in mind. We look forward to our Masters of the Book braving the challenges of this new content, and don’t worry if this is still not enough, the journey only starts here. Nightmare Dungeon of the Deep Abyss is an end-game content where the deeper you delve into the abyss, the enemies become stronger and stronger, special debuffs are applied. You will be able to strategically tackle these debuffs and face the threats posed by stronger enemies to earn powerful rewards. You can obtain entrance tickets to the Abyss Nightmare dungeon through regular Nightmare dungeons, and by clearing the first stage of the Abyss, you will receive another ticket for a specific second-stage dungeon. The Abyss Nightmare has a time limit, and if you clear it faster than the limit, you can challenge a higher stage of the Abyss based on the remaining time. Additionally, you can use the "Co-Op" feature to challenge it with friends or guild members, allowing for a more exciting experience through cooperation. As you challenge the Abyss Stages that match your growth, you can acquire a new item, the "Goddess's Armor," and the probability of obtaining Mythic-grade Relics will increase with each stage. At higher Abyss stages, you can even acquire Mythic-grade armor. This new "Goddess's Armor" can only be obtained by playing the Abyss Nightmare dungeon, and there are no paid products involved. As the new year starts in January, new content in the form of a “World Boss”, a feature we have longed to introduce, will be coming to the game. Defeat the ruler of the deep sea, “Krak”, and help Vesti protect her massive warship “Dawn’s Avenger” located on a new area for Season 2, “Narvir Coast”. Krak’s many tentacles each possess unique elements, delivering a range of powerful and menacing attacks against you. World Boss: Krak is PvE endgame content where you must target different elements of the boss each day throughout the week. Krak can be challenged daily, with each day focused on a unique element to strategize against. Rewards will be given based on daily rankings, so prepare your Knights to match the changing elements and join the competition with other Masters of the Book! 4★ Knights will now have the opportunity to be promoted to 5★. When a 4★ Knight of Veda reaches Fate Level 7, they will be upgraded to 5★ with enhanced stats. Like with Fate Level 7, they can continue to develop their Fate one by one. With this update, all 4★ Knights that Masters of the Book have obtained will be distributed as a gift. All 5★ Knights (including those promoted from 4★ Knights of Veda) will have the opportunity to ascend to Mythic-grade. This promotion can be achieved by completing in-game missions, regardless of the Knight’s Fate Level. Now, all Masters of the Book can elevate their beloved Knights, whether 4★ or 5★, to the Mythic-grade. Mythic-grade Knights of Veda will gain unique special effects, adding more depth to strategies and enhancing the joy of studying and analyzing your Knights. In ASTRA: Knights of Veda, there are various attractive weapon designs, yet some are overlooked due to their performance. Now, you can use the appearance of the weapon you like. 5★ weapons can also be promoted to Mythic rank through missions, and any weapon you've acquired can have its appearance changed to your preferred style as long as it’s recorded in your inventory. In addition, a new Re-release system, various events, and missions are in the works. Once the schedule and details are finalized, we’ll be sharing them with you and gathering your feedback. We’re also planning an event, possibly a meeting or online session, where we can hear your opinions directly. We at the development team are committed to delivering more engaging and enjoyable updates and services. We look forward to your continued support and interest in ASTRA: Knights of Veda Season 2, Tears of the Goddess. After the first update of Season 2, we’ll be addressing more of your feedback so stay tuned. Thank you.

Development Team’s Responses on Season 2 Update Direction
Hello, Masters of the Book. I am Kim Young-mo, the director of ASTRA: Knights of Veda. Season 2 of ASTRA: Knights of Veda will be released on 10/31, and as we’re gearing up for that, we would like to sincerely thank everyone for the feedback you gave during Season 1. Thanks to this feedback, we made ASTRA: Knights of Veda a better game for everyone. Through this letter, we would like to let our Masters of the Book know about the direction we would like to take on your feedback for the announced Season 2 changes. We have carefully reviewed every feedback given regarding the changes coming to Season 2. In particular, the expansion of Fate levels to Level 7. We have received various concerns that the change may feel more like a burden than a source of joy. We sincerely apologize for any disappointment this has caused as I, in particular, feel a significant sense of responsibility towards this specific change. While our goal with this change was to enhance the fun and challenge of the game, we understand the frustration that this might cause and thus we would like to present the following measures to alleviate the burden of leveling up to Fate Level 7. 1. Based on the number of the times you use Pickups All Out summons, you will now be able to choose and acquire a bonus “Season 1 5★ Pickup Hero/Exclusive Weapon.” First, we would like to explain how Pickups All Out works. This Call of the Star summon will feature two types, one for [Knight of Veda from Season 1] and another for [Exclusive Weapon from Season 1]. On the Pickup menu, there will now be tabs where you can select which Knight or Weapon you wish to summon. [Image Example] * The example image is from a development environment, and the content of some images may change upon live service. You will be able to select and acquire a Season 1 Pickup as a bonus once 300 “Pickups All Out” summons are reached. For example, if you summon for Nec 220 times and for Ellen Farrell 80 times in the Pickups All Out menu for [Knight of Veda from Season 1], reaching a total of 300, you will be able to choose one “Season 1 5★ Pickup Knight of Veda” as a bonus. This bonus can be repeatedly obtained every time you reach the required number of summons. The same applies to the Exclusive Weapons, although the summon counts for the bonus will be counted separately for [Knight of Veda from Season 1] and [Exclusive Weapon from Season 1]. However, please be informed that summon counts Knights of Veda/Exclusive Weapon Call of the Stars for the first Season 2 Pickups will be shared. - Summon counts for the bonus will be shared between “Pickups All Out: Season 1 Knights of Veda” and “Season 2 First Pickup Knights of Veda”. - Summon counts for the bonus will be shared between “Pickups All Out: Season 1 Exclusive Weapons” and “Season 2 First Pickup Exclusive Weapons”. By providing bonus rewards, we aim to reduce the tediousness of trying to repeatedly summon all the while making it easier for our Masters of the Book to obtain their desired Knights. 2. We will now be providing three (3) additional “Season 1 5★ Pickup Hero Selection Ticket” to help our Masters of the Book achieve Fate Level 7 for their characters. As mentioned previously, we would like to sincerely apologize for the frustration caused by the announcement of the expansion to Fate Level 7. To address this, in addition to the changes outlined above, we will now also be providing three (3) additional “Season 1 5★ Pickup Hero Selection Tickets.” Originally, we planned to give one “Season 1 5★ Pickup Hero Selection Tickets” as a Season 2 Pre-Registration Reward. With this change, users who Pre-Registered will now receive a total of four (4) “Season 1 5★ Pickup Hero Selection Tickets” at the start of Season 2. With the addition of bonus rewards from the “Pickups All Out” and the additional selection tickets, we aim to allow you to be more flexible in choosing your Knights of Veda and reduce the difficulty of leveling up to Fate Level 7. In the future, we will strive to reflect your feedback more carefully and deliver a more enjoyable and satisfying experience. Once again, we would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused. We will strive to be more thoughtful in incorporating your feedback in our decisions so that we can provide a more enjoyable and satisfying experience. We would like to express our sincere gratitude once again to all the Masters of the Book who continue to show their love and support. In Season 2, various rewards will be available through numerous events, and the ASTRA: Knights of Veda development team will always do its best to repay your support with heartfelt appreciation. Thank you.
